Ball Bag Backup

• P Pitcher Backup Yell 'ball's down!', point at it, then clear the throwing lane and cover the plate area.
• C Catcher Ball Find the ball, take one step to the inside (fair side) of the baseline, and throw to the glove-side target at first.
• 1B First Base Bag Stretch to the infield side of the bag and give a big target off the runner's shoulder.
• 2B Second Base Backup Get behind first base in the throwing lane — overthrows are your play.
• 3B Third Base Bag Cover third — nothing behind the play gets left open.
• SS Shortstop Bag Cover second in case the runner keeps going on an overthrow.
• LF Left Field Backup Move in toward the infield, ready for a wild ricochet.
• CF Center Field Backup Move in toward second base.
• RF Right Field Backup Sprint hard to back up the throwing lane beyond first base.
